How we treat

Manual Therapy

We have a very hands-on approach and are highly skilled in a range of techniques to reduce muscle, joint and nerve pain. These include myofascial release, trigger point release, hold-relax, muscle energy techniques, PNF, massage and joint mobilisation.

Exercise

Exercise – whether for strength, flexibility, fitness, pain relief or posture – is an essential part of most rehabilitation and preventative programmes. Any exercise programme will be specifically tailored to your physical capabilities and lifestyle and will be designed to complement and enhance treatment you receive.

Acupuncture

The ancient Chinese treatment can be extremely useful in managing pain and reducing muscle spasm.  At Uxbridge Physiotherapy we are highly experienced in its use alongside other treatment options at our disposal.

Taping

Taping can be a useful addition to treatment. It helps to:

  • Support and protect – Offloading recently-injured areas can help reduce pain and promote optimal healing
  • Improve postural awareness – Tape can be useful in giving you the gentle reminder you need to stop slouching your shoulders, jarring your knees, or slumping your back.

At Uxbridge Physiotherapy we use a range of tapes which have different properties and benefits, including Kinesio tape.

Ultrasound

Ultrasound can be useful in the management of acute soft tissue injuries, optimising the healing process and speeding up your return to full function.
